Prime Minister Dr Terrance Drew travelled to New York to attend the 20th Mother’s Day Gala. The New York-based Kittitian and Nevisan Association hosted the 20th edition of the celebration. He took to his social media account to share glimpses of the event. He shared that he was extremely pleased to attend the gala as the event’s guest speaker. The gala was held at the Eastwood Manor in New York on Sunday, May 14, 2023. Author and educator Clytia Manning hosted the event.
Prime Minister Drew took to his social media to announce that he was honoured to address the Kittitian and Nevisian mothers on the occasion of Mother’s Day. The Prime Minister of the country took the opportunity to share his best wishes to the organizers of the event.
Meanwhile, Governor-General of St Kitts and Nevis, Marcella Liburd and Permanent Secretary in the Prime Minister’s Office, Neemah Hazel were also present at the 20th Mothers Day Gala alongside the Prime Minister. The prime Minister shared that I extend congratulations again to KANA for a successful event and to the honourees.
Prime Minister Dr Terrance Drew was entrusted with the responsibility for honouring three mothers for their selfless and great work that they are doing for the benefit of their family and the community. The Prime Minister stated that I had the privilege of presenting the awards to the honourees Norma Dolphin, Andrea Nandi Gumbs, Emerald Merritt, and Da Flame.
Dr Drew urged the three women to continue doing their great work. After the successful execution of the 20th Annual Gala, Dr Terrance Drew stayed in the country for a subsequent engagement with the diaspora members. The Prime Minister of St Kitts and Nevis interacted with the people living in the diaspora in New York. He was present at the Church of the Holy Nativity in Bronx, New York.
