The prime Minister of St Kitts and Nevis, Dr Terrance Drew, recently attended the funeral of the former commander of the St Kitts and Nevis Defence Force, Errol Maynard. The government of St Kitts and Nevis, under the leadership of Dr Drew, honoured the contribution of the ambassador of St Kitts and Nevis to the act of nation-building. The National Stelwart was laid to rest on Friday, May 12, 2023, with full military honours.
The burial service for Ambassador Errol Maynard featured the attendance of several people of note and relevance in the government of St Kitts and Nevis. The Deputy Governor General of St Kitts and Nevis, Walford Gumbs, was one of the chief attendants of the burial ceremony of Ambassador Errol Maynard alongside the Prime Minister, Dr Terrance Drew, and the members of his cabinet.
The representatives of the Diplomatic and Consular Corps accompanied the Prime Minister. They joined family members, friends and other well-wishers in paying their final respects to the late Errol Maynard. The late stalwart of St Kitts and Nevis served as the non-resident ambassador of the country to The Republic of China (Taiwan), South Korea, and Japan.
Prime Minister Dr Terrance Drew shared several images from the burial ceremony of the late Errol Maynard. The service took place at the Immaculate Conception Co-Cathedral on East Independence Square Street in Basseterre. The Minister of national security in the government of St Kitts and Nevis took the opportunity to pay tribute to the life and contributions of the notable personality.
The other members of the national assembly and cabinet members also attended the funeral and burial service. The attendants included the Attorney General and Minister of Justice and legal affairs in the government of St Kitts and Nevis, Garth Wilkin, Minister of youth empowerment, gender affairs, ageing and disability, Isalean Philip.
