Prime Minister Dr Terrance Drew attended the plaque exchange ceremony at the Carambola Beach Club. Seabourn Venture is docked at the Beach Club. Prime Minister of St Kitts and Nevis participated in the event on behalf of the Minister of Tourism, Marsha Handerson.
St Kitts had the chance to welcome the inaugural call of Seabourn Venture on Monday, October 2022.
At the event, Prime Minister Dr Terrance Drew took the opportunity to share a few remarks with the attendees. In his speech, he applauded the Ministry of Tourism and Minister Handerson for their efforts in transforming the Tourism Sector. He confessed that he was proud of the ministry’s work over the last few months.
In light of this development, he said he was looking forward to the new tourism season.
Ministry of Tourism of the twin-island nation, St Kitts and Nevis, working under the efficient leadership of Marsha Handerson and the St Kitts Tourism Authority (SKTA), along with other stakeholders in the tourism industry, received words of praise from their Prime Minister.
Further, PM Dr Terrance Drew spoke about the strong partnership between St Kitts, a tourist destination and the Seabourn Cruise Line.
Prime Minister Dr Drew informed the attendees of the event that the inaugural call of the Seabourn Venture marked the eighth ship from that line to visit St Kitts.
In light of this, he also stated that following the lockdowns mandated by Covid-19, Seabourn was the first line to visit the destination back in July 2021.
He extended his sincere gratitude to the line. He also committed to continuing to honour and support the partnership we have developed over the years.
Additionally, Prime Minister Dr Terrance Drew took the opportunity to extend his gratitude and appreciation to the stakeholders of the tourism industry. He thanked them for their resilience over the past two years.
Recently, the government of St Kitts and Nevis removed all the travel restrictions mandated by Covid-19, opening their shores to travellers from across the globe. Following these implementations, the government is optimistic about the upcoming 2022-23 tourism season.
