The Minister of Tourism, Civil Aviation, International Transport, Employment and Labour and Urban Development, the Honourable Marsha T. Henderson, has been working tirelessly to ensure the readiness Of St Kitts and Nevis to welcome the tourist season to the island country.
Minister Handerson hosted several meetings with the stakeholders of the international industry to promote the tourism season in St Kitts and Nevis.
Marsha Henderson and her team met Josh Weinstein, CEO of Carnival Cruise Lines, at the Carnival office in Miami. The Carnival has pledged its continued support of the destination and will make calls to the destination (St Kitts and Nevis) for the 2022-2023 cruise season.
Minister of Tourism, Marsha Henderson also met the CEO of Royal Caribbean International along with with key officials of the Royal Caribbean Group. Minister Handerson led her team of Tourism officials to meet with the critical officials to discuss itineraries across the group’s brand and identify strategies to increase the economic impact of cruise.
Minister Henderson has pledged to work closely with the Tourism Authority of St Kitts, associated agencies and stakeholders to form and execute plans to drive domestic and international travel to the shores of the twin islands.
In her first week as the Minister of Tourism, Marsha Handerson hosted meetings with hoteliers, taxi drivers, tour bus operators, and tour operators. These meetings provided a venue for dialogue, interaction and refined partnerships with stakeholders, the Ministry, and the Authority to improve the economic impact and enhance industry standards.
The Minister plans to continue her series of meetings in September and October ahead of the approaching winters and thus make concrete plans for the tourism industry of St Kitts and Nevis.
Minister Handerson plans to take support from the sports events (Caribbean Premier League) that St Kitts and Nevis is hosting to attract tourists to the twin-islands.
