The Prime Minister of St Kitts and Nevis, Dr Terrance Drew, recently took to his social media to extend his greetings on Good Friday and the International Observance of World Health Day. Prime Minister Drew handles the responsibility for the health ministry in the government of St Kitts and Nevis.
Dr Drew shared that World Health Day is observed every year on April 7. For 2023, the celebration theme is “Health for All.” The World Health Organization sponsors the celebration of global health awareness day. Notably, the World Health Organization was founded in 1948. The organization promotes health, serves the vulnerable, and keeps the world safe.
Accordingly, the Minister of Health, Dr Terrance Drew, took the opportunity to reflect on all the public health successes that improved our life expectancy and quality of life over the past decades. At the same time, Dr Terrance Drew took the opportunity to assert that the team under his leadership is committed to providing quality healthcare for the country’s people.
As the minister of health, Dr Terrance Drew is highly committed to the cause of providing affordable and quality healthcare for the country’s people. He is working on returning the Federation for universal healthcare for its people.
The Prime Minister has introduced several advancements in the healthcare sector, including procuring new equipment for the labs and optics department of the JNF General Hospital. Dr Terrance Drew shared that they have accomplished much concerning providing quality healthcare to the people. However, he added that it is a journey, and we still have work to do.
Dr Terrance Drew reaffirmed his commitment to improving the health sector of St Kitts and Nevis and providing universal health care to the people. The ultimate goal is to ensure the health and well-being of my people. He urged the people of St Kitts and Nevis to work together to attain “Health for All!”
