The Minister of Tourism, Marsha Henderson met with the tourism stakeholders of the country to get on the same page regarding the industry plans for 2026. The meeting was hosted earlier in the week with the hoteliers across St Kitts coming together to find common ground and strategies for the “Way Forward” for 2026.

In the beginning of the meeting, Minister Henderson highlighted that the 2025 tourism season has been extremely successful. She said that during 2025, they welcomed more than 168,838 passengers to the island.

This number surpasses the numbers recorded in the year 2019, the previous high arrivals years before the Covid-19 pandemic hit. The increased arrivals are being seen as a very important development for the growth of the tourism sector of St Kitts and Nevis.

As one of the most important drivers of the St Kitts and Nevis economy, Tourism needs constant growth, reinvention and efforts. This is what the mandate of the meeting between the Minister and the stakeholders turned out to be.

The Minister highlighted that they are working on maintaining the brand integrity of the St Kitts Tourism Authority. The steps are also being taken in the direction of growing the sector in a proactive manner.

The attendants of the meeting discussed ways to increase travel to the island nation. At the same time, they also want to ensure high standards of service and safety to the people who visit the island.

The Minister has urged the stakeholders of the tourism industry in the country to work together as the nation makes progress in preparing for the P&O cruises homeporting operations, which will begin in 2027.

In the meantime, the nation is also preparing for major events and festivals like the St Kitts and Nevis Music Festival, the Restaurant Week and other events which bring an influx of tourists to the island. As the nation moves forward with it, the public and private sectors have to work together.
