The Nevis Island Administration (NIA) and Ministry of Human Resources informed the students seeking scholarship opportunities can apply for Junior Fellows Internship in the United Nations University (UNU) in Tokyo, Japan.

The individuals are instructed that the last date to apply for the scholarship is May 10, 2024. Notably, the internship will run for 16 weeks and the students are expected to start their work from August 12 to December 20, 2024.

Furthermore, the United Nations University has set an eligibility criterion and students are expected to go through the details before applying for internship.

  1. The students from all the countries are eligible to enrol for this Fellowship.
  2. The individuals who are currently studying in UNU and has recently completed their studies (within two years of application) postgraduate studies (masters or doctoral) can also apply for scholarship.
  3. He/ she should be under 32-years of age at the time of application.
  4. They should not have more than 5 years of work experience.
  5. The individuals should have advanced computer skills.

It is to be noted that this is a Four months internship programme and students are supposed to work as a Junior Fellow at the UNU headquarters in Japan.

The scholarship comes with lots of responsibilities which includes the following:

  • The students will be provided an opportunity to understand and learn more about UNU’s working sides and enhance their knowledge
  • The individuals will work under the assistance and guidance of different fellows and mentors, which will give them a chance to expand their vision and ideas
  • Interns will gain a wide experience in the UNU work
  • The students are supposed to attend the meetings and write the minutes of the meeting
  • He/ she is responsible for the preparation and dissemination of newsletters, summaries of the event, and other documents of the communication

The applicants are asked to carry some documents during their visit in the university such as Application, CV, Cover Letter, Application form, Funding form, and Letters of Recommendation and Recommendation form.
