St Kitts and Nevis is celebrating 39 years of Independence from the British Empire on Monday, September 19, 2022. St Kitts and Nevis was declared independent in the year 1983.
On the occasion of the Independence of the Caribbean Nation, prominent leaders worldwide have sent in Congratulatory messages. Most recently, The Federal Republic of Germany offered sincere congratulations to the Government and people of St. Kitts and Nevis on their attainment of 39 years of nationhood on September 19.
In a congratulatory message to the Governor-General of St. Kitts and Nevis, Sir S.W. Tapley Seaton, Frank-Walter Steinmeier, President of the Federal Republic of Germany, said:
“On the occasion of Independence Day of St Kitts and Nevis, allow me to offer you and the people of Saint Kitts and Nevis my most sincere congratulations and those of my fellow Germans.
“Given the terrible war in Ukraine, I would like to express my particular thanks for that Saint Kitts and Nevis categorically condemned Russia’s aggression within the framework of CARICOM and in the United Nations. I hope that the international community will manage to overcome the worldwide negative impacts of this conflict and the global challenges posed by the pandemic and climate change in a spirit of cooperation and solidarity.
“I wish your country and you personally all the very best for a peaceful and happy future.”
The Governor-General of Canada, Mary May Simon, has congratulated the Government and people of the Federation of St. Kitts and Nevis on their attainment of 39 years as a sovereign nation. St. Kitts and Nevis became an independent nation on September 19, 1983
In the congratulatory message, she stated: “Our nations enjoy a long-standing relationship built on strong people-to-people ties, mutual interest, and shared respect for democracy, human rights and the rule of law. Canada is committed to strengthening our collaboration on commercial endeavours and security concerns, as well as our partnerships within multilateral institutions. We will continue to build towards a sustainable recovery from the impacts of COVID-19 as we attempt to mitigate global uncertainties, including the effects of climate change.
“We look forward to working with Saint Kitts and Nevis to ensure a secure and prosperous future for our people.
“I wish you and your fellow citizens the very best on this special day.”
Minister of External Affairs of India, Dr S Jalshankar also took to his Twitter to extend congratulations to the Federation of St Kitts and Nevis on the 39th Anniversary of their independence.
