Famous Kittian Dancehall and singer Byron Messia and Nigerian Superstar Burna Boy, one of the most iconic Debuts, Talibans II, has sold over 500,000 units in the US. The information was revealed on Friday by the music industry data platform Chart Data.

The song is the follow-up to Messia’s “Talibans,” from his top-selling dancehall album “No Love”, released January 20, 2023. The album has been certified Gold in Canada for selling 40,000 units and Silver in the UK for selling 250,000 equivalent units.

“Talibans” track moved to the top of Apple Music charts in 13 countries, while “Talibans II” was added to Burna Boy’s sixth studio album, “I Told Em…,” released July 20, 2023.

The music video features famous Kittian artist Messia alongside Nigerian superstar Burna Boy. Both of them were seen chilling and hanging out at the beach site, with a background showcasing tennis and a golf course.

The musical video was shot in Jamaica and featured several appearances from some famous faces, including Ed Sheeran (An English Songwriter), Ladysmith Black Mambazo (A local South African singer), Khalid, J Balvin (A Colombian singer), and more.

While opening about the purpose of the song, Byron Messia gave several closers. He said the purpose of writing these lyrics was nothing serious; rather, he said he never wrote down these lyrics for Talibans. “These were just based on pure inside jokes,” he noted. On YouTube, the Music video got over 25 Million views with over 230K reactions to date.

Following the release, the video broke all significant records. In August 2023, the programme stood at no. 52 on the Canadian Hot 100 and continued non-stop for seven consecutive weeks.

Notably, in the first record, Talibans, Messia’s original voice was released on January 20, 2023. To date, the video has crossed over 60 million views. Meanwhile, Talibans II, the remix, was released on July 21 with Burna Boy.

It was released via various platforms, including Ztekk/Simple Stupid Records/Geffen Records/On A Spaceship/Bad Habit/Atlantic Recording Corporation, opened with 7.6 million radio airplay audience impressions (up 26%), 4.2 million US streams.
