St. Kitts Cricket Association (SKCA) has announced an eight member team of women cricketers for the Leeward Islands in the Cricket West Indies Regional Girls U19 Tournament. The tournament is currently being hosted in Trinidad and Tobago with the first match played on July 8.
The tournament will run till July 20, 2025 with eighty remarkable girls from St Kitts and Nevis representing the twin island federation in the event. The cricketing talent of St Kitts has been put on the display for the whole region to watch and take inspiration from.
The lineup includes a prominent cricketer, Jahzara Claxton, who plays for the West Indies and the Caribbean Premier League. The young player, still in her teens, has already made her nation proud with her international as well as regional performances.
Her addition to the lineup of players is a massive nod for the standard at which St Kitts Cricket Association holds its players. The lineup includes names of prominent players like:

- Aaliyah Weekes
- Zara Skerritt
- Leanga Warner
- Gabrielle Harrylall
- Cquinya Dasent
- Sanjana Bhoojraj
All the players picked up for the Leeward Islands Team are extremely talented and have been picked for the team based on their ability and hardwork in the face of external pressures. All these players have made a mark on local teams and continue to take the name of St Kitts and Nevis far.
The officials have shared that it is important for the sports sector of the country to show growth. The eight players who have been picked for the Leeward Islands in the Cricket West Indies Regional Girls U19 Tournament underwent training ahead of the event.
The preparation camp where the training programme took place was hosted in Nevis starting on June 30 to July 5. The aim of the camp was to prepare the youngsters for regional and international appearances in the field of cricket.
