West Indies Global  University Campus hosted a viewing and recognition ceremony to honour union graduates on Saturday, November 11, 2023.

Governor General Marcella Liburd was the event’s patron. The event was held at  Royal St Kitts at the hotel. Federal Education Chief of Staff Lisa-Romayne Archibald-Pistan and  Nevis Island Administration Chief of Staff Kevin Barrett both offered their congratulations during the ceremony.

The UWI Alumni Association welcomed the graduates, encouraging them to keep in touch with their former school.

Nicole Johnson, who graduated with an M.S. in management studies (Management  Information systems), conveyed thanks on behalf of the graduates and published his thanks and appreciation to the UWI global campus, faculty and staff, and family.

Boys Site manager Gaile Gray-Phillip presented the graduates with UWI memorabilia as a sign of recognition and celebration. The ceremony was led by Nakita, who graduated in 2023 with Flying marks.

Forty-five (45) people from St Kitts and Nevis graduated at this 2023 graduation ceremony studies in the academic year 2022-2023. They represented different professions and levels of study, including accounting, marketing, international management, sociology, tourism and Hospitality Management, Social Work, Financial Management, Human Resources  Management, management training, psychology, youth work, literacy training,

Educational administration and educational leadership and management.

Thirty-five people have completed a bachelor’s or bachelor’s degree in education, one of which is a master’s degree. Degree: eight master’s degrees in engineering and one doctorate in education. Thirty-three were from St  Kitts, and twelve were from Nevis.

This year marks 75 years since UWI opened its doors in October 1948 to the University of the West Indies College in Mona.

UWI has grown into a leading regional and global university with five campuses. In 2023, the UWI Open Campus also became the UWI Global Campus and, as such, is gearing up to be a significant player in the global world of online education.
