St Kitts Tourism Authority Promotes SKN tourism Destination at Barbados, Image Courtesy: Facebook

The St Kitts Tourism Authority has hosted a promotional event for the tourism sector of St Kitts and Nevis at the Hilton Barbados Resort. The event served as an opportunity for the stakeholders of the Tourism Sect or to promote their offerings to the various travel advisors, tour operators, and media.

Reportedly, The St Kitts Tourism Authority has enforced a comprehensive marketing plan aimed to strengthen the destination’s position to drive intra-regional travel to St Kitts & Nevis. In line with this, the CEO of the Tourism Authority, Ellison “Tommy” Thompson and Deputy Chief Executive Officer Melnecia Marshall travelled to Barbados to promote the country as a prominent tourist destination.

The promotional event hosted by the St Kitts Tourism Authority at the Hilton Barbados Resort was held in partnership with the interCaribbean and Barbados Tourism Marketing Inc. The event aimed to add to the celebrations of the inaugural flight celebrations of interCaribbean Airways to and from St. Kitts and Barbados.

The inaugural flight of the interCaribbean Airways arrived in St Kitts and Nevis on Sunday, March 12, 2023, kickstarting the partnership under which the flights will come to St Kitts thrice weekly, on Sunday, Wednesday and Friday. Prime Minister Dr Terrance Drew was also present at the welcome ceremony of the inaugural flight from Barbados to St Kitts.

With the introduction of this new service, the Minister of Tourism in the government of St Kitts and Nevis, Marsha Henderson, stated that “reestablishing strong regional connectivity is critical to the success of tourism markets across the Caribbean.”

The Chief Executive Officer of the St Kitts Tourism Authority accompanied her. Other significant guests included the head of the Barbados Tourism Authority. Other tourism sector stakeholders also marked their presence at the promotional event.
