St Kitts and Nevis: Skyla Connor has secured the first silver medal for St Kitts and Nevis in the 50 metres breaststroke in 11 to 12 age group categories at the OECS Swimming Championship in St Vincent and the Grenadines.
The Premier of Nevis, Mark Brantley shared this news and extended congratulations to Skyla Connor through his official social media account. He also shared the video of her winning performance which was posted by the Department of Sports Nevis.
Sharing the video, the Ministry of Sports Nevis congratulated Skyla Connor for winning the silver medal in the girls 11 to 12 age 50m breaststroke at the OECS Swimming Championship. “Well done,” noted the Sports Department.
Skyla is a member of the St Kitts and Nevis team named “Bring It Swim” who have been in St Vincent to compete in the 32nd edition of the OECS Swimming Championship. The team consists of 15 young mates who have practices their all to compete and win in this tournament.
Significantly, the young winner is participating in various events at the championship which was scheduled from November 08 to 10, 2024.
Events she has participated in include 400m freestyle, 200m medley relay, 200m free relay, 200m IM, 50m breaststroke, 100m breaststroke, 50m freestyle, 100m freestyle, 200m freestyle, 50m backstroke, 50m butterfly and 200m mixed free relay.
Competing in these events, Skyla Connor won the medal and the leaders and citizens of St Kitts and Nevis extended their heartfelt congratulations to her.
Notably, the 32nd OECS Swimming Championship features about 170 swimmers from across 9 Caribbean countries including Antigua and Barbuda, Anguilla, British Virgin Islands, Dominica, Grenada, St Kitts and Nevis, St Marteen, St Lucia, and the host country St Vincent and the Grenadines, who are competing in different categories of swimming.
