St Kitts and Nevis: The Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries, and Marine Resources in St Kitts is all set to host the Agri Easter Night Market Egg-Starvaganza on Thursday, March 28th, 2024, at the Basseterre Public Market. The Market will offer the communities a surplus variety of essentials and resources.  

The Agri Easter Night Market will be open for public attendance from 5 PM to 10 PM. It will feature products including Coconut Dumplings, Fruits and Vegetables, Fresh Meat and Fish, Salt Fish, Coconut Water, Grilled Seafood, and much more.

It will be hosted in partnership with the Ministry of Small Business and Entrepreneurship. The Market will allow local and small entrepreneurs to sell and present their products to a larger audience. Registrations are already open, and local vendors and small businesses can apply now.

The Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Marine Resources has called upon the communities to mark their calendars to experience this exciting Market. “We know exactly what you’re thinking so pick your outfit check your calendar and get ready for the most exciting Easter Night Market this month,” it added.

  • The Department of Agriculture LaGuerite
  • The Department of Marine Resources
  • The Basseterre Public Market.

It is to be noted that the market is being organized by the Ministry, to provide a direct avenue for local farmers and vendors to engage with consumers, providing fresh, locally grown, healthy, and organic products. 

The Initiative will enable the government to retain its continued commitment to fulfill the promise of establishing markets for farmers, fishers, and other food producers.

Chaïra Flanders- Head of the Media and Communication Department in the Ministry of Agriculture, recently opened up about her vision and need to conduct these markets to support local vendors and artisans.

“Local food vendors and small businesses will have the opportunity to present their products and gain exposure. This, in turn, can lead to increased business opportunities and contribute to the overall economic development of the nation,” she noted.
