St Kitts and Nevis: The ministers and government officials of St Kitts and Nevis have shared various Hurricane Preparedness Tips as a Tropical Storm Watch has been issued amidst the threat of passing the “Storm Ernesto.”
Prime Minister Dr Terrance Drew convened a urgent Zoom Meeting with government officials and NEMA to assess the current weather situation and ensure that the preparedness measures are firmly in place.
“The safety of our people is our highest priority and I encourage everyone to take all necessary precautions as we continue to monitor the development of this weather system,” he stated.
The acting Prime Minister and officially the Deputy PM Dr Geoffrey Hanley, through his official social media, shared the current weather situation and urged everyone across the nation to take the vital precautions and to stay safe.
He stated that as a powerful storm is approaching, please follow the guidance of local authorities, secure your homes, and ensure that you have all essential supplies. He also mentioned that the safety of the citizens is the administration’s top priority.
“Let’s face this together with care and caution. Stay strong, stay informed, and above all, stay safe,” Minister Hanley said.
Minister of Sports, Agriculture, et al., Samal Duggins also posted a Storm Alert and asked the citizens to be prepared. He shared the Weather Bulletin issued by the Robert L. Bradshaw International Airport on August 12, 2024.
Sharing the bulletin, he stated that, “As we brace for the storm set to arrive, I urge all the citizens of Constituency Four and beyond to take immediate precautions to ensure safety of your families, homes, and communities.”

Minister Duggins also stated that their priority is the safety of the citizens and so everyone should work together to ensure that everyone is well-prepared. “Please take every precaution and stay safe. We will get through this together.”
