St Kitts and Nevis: The Embassy of St Kitts and Nevis organised a third book donation in the Republic of China to continue spreading ‘SKNLOVE’. The event was organised at the New Taipei City Hall. The aim of the Embassy was to spread love amongst people for St Kitts and Nevis. ‘Sharing kindness and Nurturing Love’ was the slogan given to the outreach program.
Donya L. Francis, Ambassador of St Kitts and Nevis to Taiwan, gave the Mayor of New Taipei City, Hou You Ih, a total of 12 books. The authors of the books are from St Kitts and Nevis.
Francis highlighted that the author’s literary work depicts a thrilling journey to St Kitts and Nevis. The drive to the beautiful destination describes planes, trains and roads for the reader.
Further to it , he was elated with hope that all the residents of New Taipei City would become known to St Kitts and Nevis. He remarked this would strengthen the relationships between New Taipei City’s citizens and government.
The students of Ming Chuan University recited the poem ‘Mr Masquerade Man’ by Nevisian Poet Vanessa Webbe and also read out loud the introduction of the books.
The books were donated for the people of Taiwan to create awareness among them regarding the beautiful twin island state.
‘Zari- the dance’ and Khailen- the footballer from the Uncle Donya Series, Francis’s self published children’s books were also donated.
The Ambassador donated the books ‘My ABC Book About St. Kitts and Nevis’ by Kayrisa Kelly, ‘ Oma Lu’s visit’ by Keimon Archibald-Lake, ‘Cricket and Coconut’, ‘ A Distant Shore’, ‘ The Final Passage’, ‘ The ABC Fun and Colouring Book’ and’ How about Poetry for Dessert.’
Thereby, the book donation was organised by the Embassy of St Kitts and Nevis is a pivotal step that will foster relationships between the two nations.
