Sparks coming from an electrical socket resulted in another evacuation of the Washington Archibald High School on Wednesday morning.
Hundreds of students and teachers made it to safe grounds in an open space nearby after the alarm was raised.
The St Kitts and Nevis Fire and Rescue Services rushed to the scene.
The problem was said to be in a classroom on the third form block. No one was injured and students and teachers returned to the classrooms after lunch.
This is the second time in as many months that the school had to be evacuated due to a fire. On January 15, 2020, a fire caused the evacuation and closure of the school for one day.
The Washington Archibald High School was also evacuated and closed in September 2017 due to “an emergency situation.”
