St Kitts and Nevis youth parliament association has taken to their social media and extended their deepest condolences on the passing of John Jarvis, Chairman of the Antigua and Barbuda Electoral Commission.
SKNYPA describes Jarvis not only as a dedicated leader but a steadfast supporter of the Youth Parliament Movement, particularly the NYPAAB.
SKNYPA highlighted that during their Official Working Visit to Antigua and Barbuda in August 2023, they had the honour of meeting Jarvis.
SKNYPA accentuated that Jarvis’s warmth and unwavering support left a lasting impression on them, his commitment to the Youth Parliament Movement resonated deeply, and his insights were invaluable.
Jarvis served the Commission with distinction, holding the Chairmanship since April 2022, spanning from December 2015 to January 2024, and was marked by a commitment to media engagement, transparency, and the advancement of awareness regarding electoral processes.
“In this time of grief, we extend our heartfelt sympathies to Jarvis’s family, friends, and colleagues. His legacy as a leader and advocate for transparent electoral practices will be remembered, and his contributions to the Youth Parliament Movement will forever remain in our hearts”.noted the SKNYPA.
Furthermore, On 18th January 2024, the St. Kitts and Nevis Youth Parliament Association received 20 chairs to kickstart the Secretariat Upgrade of their parliament.
This collaboration enhanced SKNYPA’s meeting hall with the newly provided chairs.
President of St. Kitts and Nevis Youth Parliament Association, McDonald, expressed gratitude on behalf of the Association for this significant investment, which benefited not only SKNYPA but also contributed to the growth and development of young people nationwide.
SKNYPA’ highlighted that Antioch Baptist Church remains instrumental in fostering the development of youth.
SKNYPA’ has unveiled their plans for their secretariat, which includes
expanding the Executive Chambers
enhancing the lobby area and resource corner.
