Solar Power

All duties and VAT will continue to be waived on solar panels for private homes.

Geothermal

  • After a nearly two-decade odyssey, the CCM government has been working and will continue working tirelessly to realize geothermal energy. Once completed, several benefits will be realized by residents:
  • The political Party committed to a dramatic reduction in the cost of electricity.
  • Provision of Clean energy to benefit the environment
  • Introduction of electric cars and light manufacturing centred on geothermal energy, including fertilizer production for export.
  • Make efforts to export geothermal energy to St Kitts and neighbouring islands, making Nevis a net energy exporter.

The Concerned Citizens Movement also laid out plans to keep the environment in the centerstage:

CCM’s Pland for the protection of resources (Environment)

  • The construction of a climate-controlled storage facility for all medical and pharmaceutical supplies on Nevis. Continued investment in training and recruitment of medical personnel.
  • Provide financial support to local medical practitioners to specialise.
