The Prime Minister of St Kitts and Nevis, Dr Terrance Drew, was in Trinidad and Tobago alongside the various CARICOM heads of state for the 45th Regular Meeting and to launch a year of celebrations to mark the 50th Anniversary of the establishment of the CARICOM. The Prime Minister shared his experience during the 3-day visit to Trinidad and Tobago during the fiftieth Anniversary celebration.
The Prime Minister recollected that the meeting venue was most significant as the CARICOM heads of state came together at the historic venue where the founding CARICOM members signed the Treaty of Chaguaramas. Dr Drew shared several images from the three-day, 45th Regular Meeting meeting sessions.
As per the update shared by the Prime Minister of St Kitts and Nevis, Dr Terrance Drew, the meeting discussed several issues of importance, including food security, climate change, and the climate finance agenda; The CARICOM heads of states also discussed the ongoing difficulties and security issues that Haiti is currently facing.
The PM shared that during the forty-fifth regular meeting of the CARICOM, the members discussed external relations and the CARICOM Single Market and Economy (CSME). The Prime Minister, Dr Terrance Drew, shared that the fiftieth-anniversary celebration featured the Flag Raising event, the planting of a Time Capsule; Further, The Chairman of the CARICOM, Prime Minister of the Commonwealth of Dominica, Roosevelt Skerrit and host of the Conference and Prime Minister of Trinidad and Tobago, Keith Rowley.

Meanwhile, the meeting also allowed PM Dr Drew to interact with the regional leaders and international delegates. The Prime Minister spoke to them regarding the Sustainable Island State Agenda of St Kitts and Nevis. The interactions also aimed to probe opportunities for collaboration and partnership.
The Prime Minister of St Kitts and Nevis also spoke about the celebration of the 50th Anniversary that took place in St Kitts and Nevis. Dr Drew was happy to see the country join the celebration in the form of the CARICOM experience.
