The Royal St. Christopher and Nevis Police Force (RSCNPF) has expressed their concern about the unusually high traffic accidents on both the islands of St Kitts and Nevis. Some of these traffic accidents have also resulted in loss of life.
Providing an instance On June 21, 2023, Kenrick T. Phillip of Stonefort Estate was severely injured in a traffic accident in Conyers, St. Kitts. He subsequently sought overseas medical attention. Regrettably, his injuries were too severe. Accordingly, he succumbed to his death on July 2, 2023.
Further, the police force reflected that on July 1, 2023, Joneal Sprouse of Middle Island, St Kitts, was involved in a traffic accident near the solar farm on Frigate Bay Road. Sprouse, unfortunately, succumbed on July 3, 2023, to the injuries he sustained in the collision. Discussing the incidents, the police force extended their sincere condolences to all adversely impacted by Phillip and Sprouse’s untimely departure.
The police force has investigated road accidents. In these investigations, they have identified driving at excessively high speeds as their main cause. Another prominent reason is driving without due care and attention. The police force implore drivers and motorists to exercise adequate vigilance and extreme care while driving.
The officials of the St Kitts and Nevis Police Force have claimed that Speed has never been and will never be a solution for lateness. It will also never guarantee safe arrival at your destination of choice.To assist the general public with fully adhering to the Federation’s traffic laws, the Police Force will increase their presence in communities around the country.
The police force of St Kitts and Nevis asserted that we owe it to each other to conduct ourselves at all times in a manner that protects and respects the safety, security, and peace of mind of others.
As the chief law enforcement agency in the Federation, the RSCNPF owes it to one and all to do its part in maintaining that safety. In this regard, we will continue to fulfil our national mandate without fear or favour to benefit all citizens and residents.
