The police force of St Kitts and Nevis has intercepted a cargo suspected of carrying contraband into the country at the Robert L Bradshaw Airport on the island. The team of St Christopher and Nevis Police Force shared the updates of the happenings so far on their social media account. The incident occurred on the second day of the music festival. At the time, the airport was busy catering to the plethora of tourists and attendants of the island’s music festival.
According to reports from official sources, the police force received a tip-off from unknown individuals who informed them of an attempt to smuggle contraband through the Robert L Bradshaw Airport. The team of St Kitts and Nevis Police Force has started the investigations into the incident after the tip-off was received. Remarkably, they conducted some routine checks at the customs office.
The Authorities conducted checks of the cargo at the RLB International Airport and recovered thirty-seven (37) small packages containing vegetable material suspected of being cannabis. The authorities recovered these packages in three (3) milkshake containers. The first container held eleven (11) such packages; the second held twelve (12); and the third contained fourteen (14).
After concluding the import cargo check, the police took the suspected contraband into their custody. The police force has taken the initiative to conduct a thorough investigation into the matter and make progress into the attempted smuggling of the contraband, suspected of being cannabis, into the country. The country’s people have applauded the police force for their quick action on the matter.
Meanwhile, some people have also recalled the recent incidents of violent crime in the country, and they have accordingly questioned the police officials on the progress of the investigations in those issues and matters. They asked the police when the culprits of the shooting incidents and the recent homicides in the country will be brought to justice.
