Basseterre, St Kitts and Nevis: Royal St Christopher and Nevis Police Force participated in the Search and Rescue Workshop at the Marriott Beach Resort to strengthen the Search and Rescue (SAR) capabilities on St Kitts and Nevis hosted by the Eastern Caribbean Civil Aviation Authority (ECCAA), in association with the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO).
Along with the Police Force, participants of the workshop include all Air Navigation Services Providers (ANSPs), namely:
• Fire and Rescue
• Defense Force and Coast Guard
• Health
• Customs
• National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA)
• Maritime Affairs
• Civil Aviation
• Nevis Air and Sea Ports Authority (NASPA), Operator of the Vance Amory International Airport
• Saint Christopher Air and Sea Ports Authority (SCASPA) Operator of the RLB International Airport
The ECCAA-ICAO team would conduct a walkthrough at the RLB International and Vance Amory Airports and meet with the officers of the Air Traffic Services and Meteorology Departments. The workshop is hosted by the Ministry of Tourism, International Ports and Civil Aviation.
The officers of the Saint Christopher Royal Police Force also wrapped up their initiative for the senior citizens in their respective districts. While working on this, the police force officers from Tabernacle Police Station carried out this initiative. The police officers gathered resources to create gift baskets for the senior citizens of their region.
The initiative has been supported by the Community Development Officer Chaddi Garnette for the past few years. The officer actively participates in the initiatives and helps the officers to identify the persons in need of the baskets.
“Being a Community Development Officer, I love to work with the police to get some of the orders that were issued to me from the higher authorities of the department. I praise the officers for what they have done,” said SDO Chaddi Garnette.
