The Prime Minister of St Kitts and Nevis, Dr Terrance Drew, recently interacted with the media representatives during the round table. Here, he took the opportunity to inform the media about his trips with his team to represent the country at the international platforms of the IMF and the World Bank. He also spoke about the Regional Symposium, which he attended in Trinidad and Tobago.

The Prime Minister hosted the “The Roundtable” media interaction on Wednesday, April 19, 2023. During the meeting, which started at 12:45 PM, the Prime Minister addressed several critical issues of the country.

Prime Minister Dr Terrance Drew hosts regular meetings with media representatives. This is because the interactions give him a chance to interact with the country’s people and give them detailed, regular updates about the developments in the country.

In line with this, the Prime Minister asserted that open and transparent communication channels are critical for smooth and gap-free communication between the citizens and the government.

He also commented on the World Bank and IMF spring meetings, which he attended as the Minister of Finance serving in the government of St Kitts and Nevis. The Prime Minster accompanied a delegation of high-level staff members at both excursions.

Dr Terrance Drew shared with the media members that the meetings he attended in Washington DC were critical for him as Prime Minister and Minister of Finance of the twin islands of St Kitts and Nevis. Here it is worth mentioning that the Prime Minister also visited and interacted with the diaspora members in St Kitts and Nevis during the meeting trip to Washington DC.

Dr Terrance Drew participated in the 5K walk with the diaspora of St Kitts and Nevis. Following this, the Prime Minister addressed and engaged with the diaspora members during the Diaspora meeting on April 15. Afterwards, the Prime Minister talked about the regional symposium that he attended in Trinidad and Tobago.

Several other heads of state of CARICOM participated in the meeting. They said, “Violence as the public health issue: the crime challenge.” Every head of state took the opportunity to share their opinions on the issue.
