PM Terrance Drew congratulates Kai Trotman for 4 year football scholarship

Cayon FC Goalkeeper, Kai Trotman has been picked up for a four-year football scholarship.  The young player from St Kitts and Nevis will be travelling to the United States for higher education in Kansas.

He will be studying at the Bethany College in Kansas on a scholarship as a result of hi remarkable performance during the national and regional football tournaments. Cayon FC, the team which was home to the footballer has also extended their best wishes to Kai Trotman.

Additionally, the Prime Minister of St Kitts and Nevis also extended his best wishes to the young footballer. The Prime Minister highlighted that Trotman was picked up for the scholarship during an  Anti-Violence Football Camp.

This initiative was organized by the Ministry of National Security in collaboration with Thru Sport. This UK-based organization has been working with the youngsters to steer them away from a life in crime.

The officials have shared that they are proud to have one of their own  traveling to the United States on the basis of his talent and hard work in his field. The Prime Minister met with Kai Trotman with before his departure and took the opportunity to personally see him off.

The Prime Minister, Dr Terrance Drew encouraged the footballer to do well and work hard on his studies as he leaves the federation for four years. While seeing the youngster off, the Prime Minister also with Beresford Mack of Thru Sport at the airport.

He was also present at the RLB International Airport to bit farewell to the young footballer. The youngster noted that he was delighted to have the opportunity to study overseas.

The Prime Minister noted that they will continue to work with international partners to make sure that all the youngsters get the opportunities that are due to them. The Prime Minister and his team are committed to ensuring that the youngsters across the country can get access to remarkable careers.

The Prime Minister also used this opportunity to urge the people of the community to make sure that they stay away from crime, gangs and violence.
