Prime Minister of St Kitts and Nevis, Dr Terrance Drew, has extended his congratulation to the newly sworn-in Prime Minister of the Commonwealth of Dominica, Roosevelt Skerrit, on his re-election to the office of the Prime Minister.

Dr Terrance Drew congratulated the Dominica Labour Party Leader with a letter addressed to his office. In his letter, Dr Drew praised Prime Minister Roosevelt Skerrit’s success over the years. He believes that The Prime Minister made his mark in your nation, across the Caribbean region, and on various international platforms for his hands-on leadership abilities.

Further, Dr Terrance Drew stated that During his tenure as the chairman of the Caribbean Community (CARICOM) and Organization of Eastern Caribbean States (OECS). He made his mark during periods when the (Caribbean) region and the world faced economic challenges and helped our area to overcome the challenges with confidence.

Dr Drew, Prime Minister of St Kitts and Nevis, complemented Dominican Prime Minister Skerrit’s dedicated leadership to make important contributions toward bringing together the predominantly English-speaking Caribbean region and Spanish-speaking Latin American region.

Further, Prime Minister Dr Terrance Drew also praised the Prime Minister of Dominica on his impact on the people of Dominica.

Dr Drew spoke about the Dominica Labour Party’s resounding victory, stating that Dominica’s people have spoken resoundingly through their votes. They have demonstrated their confidence in Roosevelt Skerrit as a leader.

He believes that Skerrit’s repeated success at the elections indicates the trust and faith that the people of Dominica have in you and the Dominica Labour Party (DLP). (The victory) indicates their willingness to embrace your innovative thinking and plans for the country.”

The Prime Minister of St Kitts and Nevis further restated his good wishes to Roosevelt Skerrit and the people of Dominica. He wishes them greater success and prosperity in the coming years.

The Prime Minister of Dominica called for the snap elections early in November. Exactly a month later, the Dominica Labour Party (DLP) emerged victorious in the polls, securing nineteen out of the total twenty-one seats they contested for.

Roosevelt Skerrit had also congratulated Prime Minister Drew and his political party for their victory in the general elections of St Kitts and Nevis.
