Prime Minister of St Kitts and Nevis, Dr Terrance Drew, attended the thanksgiving service held in honour of the 75th Anniversary of the University of West Indies. The Prime Minister was several significant members of his administration at the church service held in St Kitts on Tuesday, March 28, 2023. The Wesley Methodist Church hosted several present and past University of West Indies alums.
The Prime Minister of St Kitts and Nevis, Dr Terrance Drew accompanied several other prominent government members at the momentous occasion. The Deputy Prime Minister of St Kitts and Nevis, Dr Geoffrey Hanley, Governor General Marcella Liburd, Speaker of the National Assembly, Lanien Blanchette, Premier of Nevis and Leader of the opposition in St Kitts and Nevis, Mark Brantley, were present at the thanksgiving service.
Additionally, several other senior government officials were present on the premises of the Wesley Methodist Church on Tuesday, March 28, 2023. The Prime Minister, Dr Terrance Drew and his government celebrated 75 years of the University of West Indies for providing the region’s people with ample opportunities to get quality education and making something out of their lives.
The Minister of Education in the government of St Kitts and Nevis, Dr Geoffrey Hanley, shared his best wishes for the staff, administration, students and alumni of the University of West Indies for celebrating their Platinum. The establishment has seen significant advancements in their operations since its inception in 1948.
The first campus of the University of West Indies is established in Mona, Jamaica. Meanwhile, now the University has five campuses all around the region. Several Alumni of the University of West Indies participated in the service. Premier Mark Brantley, an Alumnus of the University of West Indies, read the first lesson; Prime Minister Dr Terrance Drew read the second reading.
Meanwhile, several other attendants of the thanksgiving service took the opportunity to recount their experiences at the university and praise the establishment for their services in the last 75 years
