The minister of Justice and Legal Affairs in the Government of St Kitts and Nevis, Attorney General Garth Wilkin recently attended the US House of Representatives Democracy Partnership Summit for Democracy in Washington, DC, on behalf of the National Assembly of St Kitts and Nevis. The attorney general is representing his country at the summit in the United States.

The minister shared that one of the topics for discussion today is “Free and Fair Elections – The Role of Congress in Promoting Sound Election Policies and Voter Participation.” The meeting focussed on discussing free and fair election policies.

According to him, Free, fair, and transparent elections are not merely a technical endeavour but a test of democratic institutions, a way to link citizen interests to Government, and a way to ensure democracy delivers.
