St Kitts and Nevis: Prime Minister Dr Terrance Drew declared opening of the Ambassadors Cup – 40+ Football Tournament on October 20, 2024 at the Warner Park Cricket Stadium in St Kitts.
This significant event is the first-ever football tournament for men above the age of 40 and has been put in order by the Ambassadors, Leon Natta-Nelson and Kenneth Douglas.
Prime Minister Terrance Drew shared the glimpses from the opening of the Football Tournament through his official social media and noted, “Last evening, I had the pleasure of opening the Ambassadors Cup- 40+ Football Tournament.”
While sharing the highlights, the Prime Minister extended gratitude to the sponsors and organisers of the event and said that, “I thank the sponsors for this most important endeavour.”
Significantly, PM Drew was accompanied by the Minister of Sports, Samal Duggins and the Deputy Prime Minister Dr Geoffrey Hanley to the tournament opening.

In addition to this, the Prime Minister also cheered the participants and stated, “To our men: have fun and continue to engage in wholesome, positive activities that are critical for nation-building.”
Notably, the Ambassadors Cup – 40+ Football Tournament is organised for the men above 40 years of age and is aimed at promoting healthy lifestyle of these men. This event is also an initiative to promote the overall sports and economic sector of St Kitts and Nevis.
The St Kitts and Nevis Football Association’s investment in the tournament is designed to promote social betterment, reduce criminal behaviour, and create a supportive community environment that encourages healthy lifestyles and engagement among and through men over 40.
Additionally, this tournament will give opportunity to the men of St Kitts and Nevis to engage in personal development while promoting the overall sectors of the island nation.
