Basseterre, St Kitts and Nevis: Prime Minister Dr Terrance Drew held discussions with the President of Cricket West Indies, Dr Kishore Shallow during a brief meeting held on Wednesday. He was accompanied by the Minister of Sports in St Kitts and Nevis, Samal Duggins.
The meeting took place on the sidelines of the ongoing CG United Women’s Super 50 Cup and ahead of the T20 Blaze regional tournament. These tournaments are being organized by President Dr Kishore Shallow in St Kitts and Nevis throughout March 2024.
PM Drew took to his social media handle (Facebook) to share glimpses and inform the public about the engagement.
“Minister of Sports Hon. Samal Duggins and I engaged with the President of Cricket West Indies (CWI), Dr. Kishore Shallow in a brief meeting today.
Dr Shallow is here as St Kitts and Nevis is currently hosting the CG United Women’s Super50 Cup at Warner Park, the Conaree Cricket Centre, and St. Paul’s Sports Complex from 4 to 25 March and the T20 Blaze regional tournaments at Warner Park from 17 to 25 March,” he added.
It is to be noted that the CG United Women’s Super 50 Cup has kicked off in St Kitts and Nevis on March 4 with 6 International teams participating in it. These teams include Barbados, Guyana, Trinidad and Tobago, Jamaica, Windward Islands and Leeward Islands. The tournament consists of five rounds of matches.
The Round 1 of the match took place on March 4th. While Round 2 was held on March 6th. In the second round, Trinidad and Tobago Divas faced Barbados, the T&T encountered defeat against Barbados. Barbados chose to bat first and set the goal at 185, while the T&T ladies concluded the match at 180 for 8 wickets.
