Prime Minister of St Kitts and Nevis, Dr Terrance Drew, defended the integrity of Minister Konris Maynard and all Members of his Cabinet during his appearance on “The EDGE” on ZIZ on January 19.

PM Drew highlighted the seriousness of making false allegations and how the government approaches allegations like these harshly.

PM Drew highlighted if any questions arise regarding the integrity of the members of parliament, the government will look into and do an investigation into the case.

PM Drew accentuated that the investigation team in the government have taken the time to make sure that they looked into the allegation and did not find any suspicion.

Further, PM Drew added, “We do not take any statement for granted; that is why I am able to say that the Cabinet members are abiding by the integrity law, and so I am happy to report that.”

During his appearance on The EDGE” on ZIZ, PM Drew voiced his unyielding support for the Cabinet Members, highlighting that all available reports and observations confirm their obedience to the probity of laws.

Additionally, PM Drew also highlighted the significance of the Whistleblowers Protection Act, passed in November 2023. The Whistleblowers Act provides a legal channel for reporting and protects all parties involved.

PM Drew emphasised that the Whistleblowers Act was put in place to encourage people with information to come forward and their identities will be protected.

PM Drew highlighted that there is a channel that people can use and have access to report their cases. Further, PM Drew encourages people to use these channels so that, in a great sense, they make sure that everybody has equal opportunities and protection under the law for those who would make accusations and those who are accused.

Nevertheless, PM Drew backed the government’s commitment to maintaining the law and guaranteeing equal protection for all citizens.

PM Drew emphasised that the law is impartially applied, protecting the rights of both the accusers and the accused.
