St Kitts and Nevis: Forty-six police recruits graduated from the Royal St Christopher and Nevis Police (RSCNP) from the intense six-month training period that began in July 2023.
Prime Minister Dr Terrance Drew extended his warm greetings on the celebration of the 43rd Passing Out Parade of the Police recruits. He congratulated all the brave men and women for marking this significant journey and shared some glimpses from the graduation day, which was held on Tuesday.
With extreme delight and pride, he noted, “Last evening we celebrated the 43rd Passing Out Parade of Police Recruits, Course 46 of the Royal St. Christopher and Nevis Police Force and I must say I was indeed proud and pleased by what I saw.”
Further, while congratulating the graduates, he noted, “Congratulations to the brave men and women of Course 46. Your unwavering commitment, discipline, and dedication have brought you to this pivotal juncture – a moment that not only signifies just the culmination of your rigorous training but also the commencement of your noble journey as Police Officers, working to safeguard our beloved nation.”
He also extended his special congratulations to No.446 W/Const Danecia Henry and No. 076 S/Const Patrick Bradshaw for leading the platoon exceptionally.
Furthermore, marking this auspicious occasion, PM Drew outlined that this was a historic celebration with the largest number of female recruits in the nation’s history. He also said that this was for the first-time recruits who led their own platoon.
He commended all the recruits and wished them the best for the future.. “Job well done! I wish you all the best on your journey. Serve your country and people with distinction,” he underlined.
Notably, Among the 26 graduates, 10 males and 16 females of Course #46 officially graduated following the Passing Out Ceremony held at the Newtown Playing Field.
Their graduation from the six months of intense and challenging training was based on various sessions and activities.
These are Practical sessions included physical training, self-defence, impact and weapons training, military drills, and more. Theoretical subjects included criminal law, evidence and procedure, and general duties
The Graduation Ceremony was concluded in the gracious presence of Prime Minister Dr Terrance Drew and several other officials from the Government of St Kitts and Nevis and the Royal Christopher and Nevis Police Force.
These include Dame Marcella Liburd, Speaker of the National Assembly Lanien Blanchette, Justice Patrick Thompson, and Deputy Prime Minister Geoffrey Hanley alongside other members of the federal cabinet.
The awards and certificates were presented to the cadets by Dr Lional Rawlins, the security advisor to the government of St Kitts and Nevis
