Taipei, Taiwan: Prime Minister Dr. Terrance Drew and the Delegation arrived in Taiwan for the state visit on June 22, 2024. Followed by the arrival on Saturday, PM Drew and his delegation met with nationals living and studying on the island.

PM Terrance Drew and the members of his delegation embarked on the journey to the Embassy of St. Kitts and Nevis. This journey was scheduled to meet the nationals residing and studying on the island. The event encouraged the engagement between the delegation and the nationals.
The members of the delegation of Prime Minister Drew included Diani Jimesha Prince Drew, wife of PM Dr. Terrance Drew; Mark Brantley, Premier of Nevis and the leader of the Opposition; Denzil Douglas, Minister of Foreign Affairs; Marcus Natta, Cabinet Secretary; Neemah Hazelle, Permanent Secretary in the PM’s Office; Frank Laws, Special Envoy for Healthcare; and Sherema Matthew, Director of SKNIS.

Dr. Terrance Drew highlighted the importance of the state visit, which coincides with the swearing-in of the new President of Taiwan. He expressed his heartfelt thanks to the Government of the Republic of China (Taiwan), for their continuous assistance given to students, and for the development opportunities.
He also showed his gratitude for the support of the Taiwanese Government towards the island of St. Kitts and Nevis. “This visit underscores our commitment to deepening our collaboration with Taiwan,” he stated.

Minister of Foreign Affairs, Dr. Denzil Douglas, also delivered remarks, outlining the significance of maintaining strong connections. “You are the ambassadors of St. Kitts and Nevis, and your presence here strengthens our international bonds,” he remarked.
Mark Brantley, Premier of Nevis, addressed the gathering, expressing his pride in the achievements of the nationals. “Your hard work and dedication here in Taiwan are commendable and a source of pride for our nation,” he stated.
Currently, there are 96 nationals of St. Kitts and Nevis in Taiwan, 71 of whom are students. The students who graduated this year were also rewarded with tokens of appreciation.
Concluding the meet, PM Drew and the delegation was treated to lunch with the students at the Embassy of St. Kitts and Nevis. They also took part in several games as to foster the bond.
