Following the declaration of the results of the general elections hosted by St Kitts and Nevis on Friday, August 5 2022, The People’s Action Movement congratulated the leaders of the Concerned Citizens Movement (CCM) for their election as the representatives for the people of Nevis.
The results for the various constituencies of St Kitts and Nevis were declared by the Supervisor of Elections, Mr Elvin Bailey, at different times throughout the day on Saturday, August 6, 2022.
As per the results, the Concerned Citizens Movement (CCM) managed to secure all three seats their leaders were contesting for in Nevis.
The leader of the Concerned Citizens Movement (CCM) and the Premier of Nevis, Mark Brantley, had nominated himself from Constituency #9 in Nevis, Former Minister of Culture Eric Evelyn was nominated from Constituency #10 and from Constituency #11, Alexis Jeffers won a tight battle with his competitor to get himself elected from the constituency.
Following this, People’s Action Movement, who were also the partners of the CCM for the duration of the general elections came forward to congratulate their partners for the clean-sweep victory that the Concerned Citizens Movement had managed to attain in the Nevis region of the federation. The post by the People’s Action Movement on their official Facebook account read,
“Congratulations to the returning Premier of Nevis, Mark Brantley, and our other brothers in the Concerned Citizens Movement (CCM), on their victory at the polls. Your success is a testament to the confidence that the people of Nevis continue to have in your leadership to enhance their lives and advance their cause.
PAM looks forward to our continued partnership, in the name of our country’s development. You have our full and abiding support, always.”
The leader of the political party, Shawn K Richards was the only candidate from The People’s Action Movement to be elected for the General Assembly of ST Kitts and Nevis. He won the election from Constituency #5 and was re-elected for another term.
