New Guinea 15 year old Teen missing since Monday, investigation ongoing, Image: Facebook

A 15-year-old resident of New Guinea, St. Kitts, Janelika Romney has been missing since the start of the week. The Police have shared that after after the teenager was declared missing, they issued a nationwide alert.

The girl is described as approximately five feet tall, having a brown skin, with black hair and brown eyes.

The last known contact from Romney came on Monday, when the girl was in a vehicle and texting a friend, Naz. This friend has been identified as a resident of Anguilla and had travelled to St Kitts to meet the now missing girl.

The boy reached out to local media to share the details of his last interaction with Romney. He said that he was the last person that the now missing 15 year old was texting.

The boy had also called the missing teenager on that day, at which point, he heard some noises from the other end of the call. He informed the police that after the sounds, the call dropped.

The Police has been conducting the investigation in the matter of the missing person’s case. The investigation has shared that the 15-year-old is a student at the Verchilds High School. She was last seen wearing the school uniform in New Guinea

The news of the girl going missing has ben doing rounds on the internet for the whole week. The officials have shared that they have put together a search party for the investigation to move forward.

Further, the Police officers have called on the people of the country to help in the investigation. The law enforcement organization is asking the residents of New Guinea, neighbours, friends, and citizens across St. Kitts and Nevis to help support.

The officials have shared that they are getting the community together to participate in the search party for the teenager. The Parliamentary representative for the Constituency where the missing teen comes from, has initiated the search party.

The search is slated for Saturday, June 21st and will start at 6:00 AM, starting at the New Guinea Boat Yard.
