Minister Spencer Brand reviews progress of Charlestown Police Station renovation

The Minister of Public Infrastructure in the Nevis Island Administration, Spencer Brand has recently shared an update on the progress of the Charlestown Police Station. The renovation of the facility is being done in collaboration with the Federal Government.

The Police Station will help in improving the security capacity of the country and give the law enforcement officers with a more comfortable workspace to work in. The Minister said that the renovation project is going smoothly and will be complete by mid year.

Minister Spencer Brand also took the opportunity to extend his gratitude to all the members of the community who have supported this project. The leader highlighted that the Nevis segment of the Police Force has been waiting for the renovation to complete.

Notably, the Minister of Public Infrastructure took a tour of the facility on Thursday. He wanted to give the people of Nevis first hand insight into the procedure. The Minister claimed that the renovation has been a slow and tedious process.

The work has been ongoing for several weeks, however, the authorities believe that the security forces will be comfortable in the newly renovated facility. The NIA provided technical support for the project which was a joint initiative between the Nevis Island Administration and the Federal Government.

The Minister expressed hope that despite the comparatively slow progress of the facility renovation, the police station can help in improving the security of the island nation. By the time the renovations are finished, they will shift the base of operations completely to this center.

The Minister of Public infrastructure et al, said that they are looking forward to the completion of the structure. Minister Spencer Brand also hoped that with the newly renovated space the community will be better assured regarding their safety and security.

The new renovation of the Charlestown Police Station will also likely address the concerns of the community regarding health and hygiene. Minster Brand received in depth information regarding the work that is still left for the completion of the facility.
