St Kitts and Nevis: 23-year-old Kittian Cricketer and Under 19 player, Mikyle Louis scored back-to-back centuries in the West Indies Regional Cricket Championship against Guyana Harpy Eagles held at Warner Park, St Kitts and Nevis.
As per the information, the senior men’s 4-day first-class tournament between Leeward Islands Hurricanes vs Guyana Harpy Eagles is scheduled from Wednesday to Saturday.
Mikyle Louis made his debut and scored two consecutive centuries by securing 113 and 130 on the second and the third day of the tournament, i.e. on Thursday and Friday (February 15 and 16, 2024).
Dr Denzil Douglas, the Minister of Foreign Affairs in St Kitts and Nevis congratulated the player for marking the outstanding performance.
“Congrats 23-year-old Mikyle Louis of St. Kitts. He scored back-to-back Centuries (113 and 130) in the Leeward Islands Hurricanes vs Guyana Harpy Eagles, in the WI Championship on home soil,” he noted on his official social media handle.
Notably, the Brief scores for Day 1 stumps are as follows, Leeward Islands Hurricane’s first innings scored 299-6 from 91 overs. Mikyle Louis scored 113, Jahmar Hamilton 77, Rahkeem Cornwall 39, and Terrance Warde 23.
Mikyle Louis was the match opener, who led the team, with a batting effort and scored 130, his second century of the match after scoring 113 in the first innings.
While the overall summary of the match was, Leeward Islands Hurricanes stood at 352 all out (Mikyle Louis 113, Jahmar Hamilton 77, Rahkeem Cornwall 54; Ronaldo Alimohamed 5-69) and 295 all out from 69.4 (Mikyle Louis 130, Keacy Carty 34, Colin Archibald 31; Kevlon Anderson 5-57, Ronaldo Alimohamed 2-66) lead Guyana Harpy Eagles 188 all out (Ronaldo Alimohamed 41, Veerasammy Permaul 34, Kevin Sinclair 29; Daniel Doram 4-40, Jeremiah Louis 3-42) by 459 runs.
Minister of Sports, Samal Duggins also took to his official social media handle to appreciate and congratulate Louis and wished him luck and success for the further matches.
“Congratulations Mikyle Louis on your outstanding performance! Back-to-back centuries, 1 half-century, and 4 innings of pure cricket brilliance! Keep hitting them out of the park and keep up the phenomenal performance” he noted.
