The tourism ministry of St Kitts and Nevis, headed by Marsha Henderson is working diligently towards ensuring that the country can revive their tourism sector. In line with this view, the Minister of Tourism, Marsha Henderson, along with the prominent members of her ministry, has held several interactions and meetings with the stakeholders of the tourism sector.
As a continuation of these interactions and meetings, Minister of Tourism and Civil Aviation Marsha Henderson and Adeola Moore, Chief Executive Officer at Saint Christopher (St Kitts) Air and Sea Ports Authority SCASPA joined several top cruise line executives and tourism officials at the Florida-Caribbean Cruise Association (FCCA) Platinum Members conference. The members of the FCCA onboard Virgin Voyages Scarlet Lady held the meeting.
The Florida Caribbean Cruise Association and its platinum members used this opportunity to share ideas and engage in strategic discussions to strengthen and foster existing partnerships with destinations and cruise line executives.
The Ministry of Tourism, headed by Marsha Henderson shared the updates for the meeting on the Facebook page associated with St Kitts Tourism, Kittitian Heartbeat. The update therein also featured some images and glimpses from the event.
St Kitts and Nevis opened their shores for the first time in two years for the cruise season after the pandemic. The cruise season opened “officially” in December 2022. Several cruise ships made their inaugural calls at the Port Zante in Basseterre for the 2022-23 cruise season.
This proves that the tourism industry of St Kitts and Nevis is recovering well from the problems and issues that the covid-19 pandemic and the subsequent lockdowns left the country with. St Kitts and Nevis are having a packed and busy cruise season. Ships have docked at the twin islands’ ports almost every day for December and January.
Many of these cruise ships also had the opportunity to make maiden voyages to the islands. Further, it is worth noting that the government is providing adequate support to the ministry to assist in recovering the tourism sector.
