International women’s brand, Loreal has partnered up with the UNESCO to host the 2nd edition of ‘The Young Talents Caribbean Region L’Oreal-UNESCO For Women’ in science program. The event will serve as an opportunity for the participants to showcase their talent in the field of science.
The programme focuses to encourage and promote the involvement of Caribbean women in science. It is to be hereby added that the deadline for form submission of applications is May 27, 2024.
The young talented researchers across the field of formal sciences, material sciences, engineering sciences, technological sciences, life and environmental sciences will be recognised and awarded for their exceptional contribution.
Notably, the students in their first year of PhD are not eligible to participate in the event. The individuals have to follow the main eligibility criteria while applying for the programme such as,
Doctoral Students
- The applicants should have the nationality of at least one of the 24 countries and territories in the Caribbean region
- Must enrolled in a doctoral study and carrying out their doctorate in a research institute, laboratory, or a higher education institution in one of the 24 countries and territories in the Caribbean region
- They should be conducting research in one of the scientific fields, listed for the programme
Post-Doctorates
- Must be a national of one of the 24 countries and territories in the Caribbean region
- Being signed-up in the post-doctorate in a laboratory, higher education institution or a research institute in any Caribbean country
- Must obtained a doctorate in one of the scientific fields listed for the programme
- Executing research in one of the scientific fields included in the list of the programme
Early Career
- The programme is open for the nationals of one of the 24 countries and territories in the Caribbean region
- Should be a member of staff for less than 3 years of a research institution, laboratory or a higher education institution from one of the Caribbean countries
- In individual should be conducting research in one of the scientific fields listed for the programme
- Must be a doctorate in one of the scientific fields included in the list of programmes
The event will serve as a platform to the young talents of Caribbean region to enhance their interest in the science.
