Senator Isalean Phillip, who handles the responsibility of Junior Minister for the ministries of education, youth affairs and social development et al., attended the Department of Youth Empowerment training retreat on January 26, 2023. The Department observed day 3 of the training retreat. Accordingly, Senator Phillip shared an update regarding the affair on her social media account.
In the update, Isalean Phillip detailed the workings of the training retreat while noting that during the trip, the staff and the junior Minister reviewed the objectives and performance indicators of the team of the St Kitts Department of Youth Empowerment. They further complete a calendar of activities to guide work for the year.
Meanwhile, The Junior Minister Isalean Phillip shared her vision for the future of the St Kitts Department of Youth Empowerment in the Facebook post. She wrote:
My vision for Youth Empowerment is for the Department to become more visible and well-known for facilitating inclusive youth engagement in various areas, including leadership and capacity building, community service, climate action and mental health.
Meanwhile, Isalean Phillip urged the people of St Kitts and Nevis to follow the official Facebook page of St Kitts Department of Youth Empowerment. She noted that the Department has much to share in the upcoming year.
The St Kitts Department of Youth Empowerment is hosting a multi day training retreat for their staff. The retreat is happening at the Kittitian Hill. Usually, it features experienced youth workers who instruct the people of St Kitts and Nevis regarding the various practises of the youth department. During the day 2 of the retareat, youth officers Naeemah Hazelle and Curtis Martin.
Hazelle made presentations on Customer/Youth Service and Responsibility and Accountability and Martin presented on Project Management. These presentations and trainings are aimed to make the young citizens of St kitts and Nevis into good responsible citizens who can asssist in the development of the nation in the long run.
