The Minister of Ecclesiastical and Faith-based Affairs and Deputy Prime Minister of St Kitts and Nevis, Dr Geoffrey Hanley, took to his social media account to share an update about hosting the Interdenominational Day of Prayer. With assistance from the Ministry of Ecclesiastical and Faith-based Affairs, the Government of St Kitts and Nevis partnered with Evangelism Encounter Ministries of the country and RCP Media to host their Interdenominational Day of Prayer in Nevis.
The event was hosted on Thursday, May 4, 2023. Activities were held throughout the day. Some of the services will air live on local radio. Further, the country’s Deputy Prime Minister informed the country’s people that the benefits would stream live on social media.
The Ecclesiastical and Faith-based Affairs minister, Dr Geoffrey Hanley, shared that the Events will conclude at a Power Praise and Prayer Rally at 6:30 p.m. He further encouraged the people of St Kitts and Nevis to reverence the day in continual prayer and asked them to participate in the services wherever possible.
A team from the Federal Ministry of Ecclesiastical and Faith-based Affairs, led by Permanent Secretary of the ministry, Elreter Simpson-Browne, travelled to the sister island of Nevis on the day of the event, where they joined prayer warriors and enthusiasts as part of the activities for the Inter-Denominational Day of Prayer—observed on the first Thursday of May each year.
This year’s theme for the event was “Pray Fervently in Righteousness and Avail Much” The sub-theme of the Interdenominational Day is ‘Praise in Prayer’.
The Inter-Denominational Day of Prayer featured the ‘Prayer Central Station’ at the New Testament Church of God in Bath Bridge, Charlestown, where a full day of prayers and service was held. Throughout the day, the attendants of the Interdenominational Day delivered prayers for businesses, leaders of government, schools and the Ministry of Education, as well as for shut-ins, the sick and the youth.
