St Kitts and Nevis: Foreign Minister Dr Denzil Douglas held a significant meeting with his Indian counterpart Dr S Jaishankar in New Delhi earlier today.

Both leaders held significant discussions related to bilateral ties and various fields of cooperation.

Another significant MoU was also signed between St Kitts and Nevis, and India during this special meeting.

Indian Foreign Minister Dr S. Jaishankar said that the MoU will allow both countries to exchange on topics and issues of mutual interest, marking a pivotal moment for the small island nation.

While sharing an update through his official X account (formerly Twitter), Indian External Affairs Minister noted that he was delighted to host FM Denzil Douglas of St Kitts and Nevis in Delhi.

He further highlighted that during the meeting, they discussed about expanding their partnership to digital, health, food security as well as capacity development. “Also signed a MoU to further intensify our bilateral political consultations,” added the Minister.


This meeting is part of a six day historic visit to India as he aims to boost St Kitts and Nevis’ international relations.

Not only this, but Minister Douglas signed another MoU with Sports Minister of India Mansukh Mandaviya to boost sports in the Federation. This agreement was signed on Monday during an official meeting between both the leaders.

He also met the Indian Minister of State for Commerce and Industry, Shri Jitin Prasada and talked about matter relating to trade, business and commerce on Monday morning.

These crucial meetings showcases both nations’ interest in boosting their bilateral ties and assist each other in times of need.

Dr Denzil Douglas is in India for a six day visit from August 4 to 9, 2024. He was warmly welcomed by diplomat Umar Shankar Mishra as he landed on the airport.

Since he arrived, he has been participating in significant meetings with Indian leaders and discussing about enhancing the partnership in several areas.

With this historic visit, both countries are anticipating fruitful results benefitting St Kitts and Nevis as well as India.
