A fire caused significant damage to a home in St Johnstone Village Area. Reportedly, the house belongs to Dr. Natasha Weekes and her family
Fortunately. The family was at church when the fire broke out. Accordingly, Dr Weekes, her husband and her five-year-old son remain safe
The first responders, police officers, along with some local residents were seen on the scene. As every second passed, the flame and the blazing fire became major, ravaging the house’s rooftop, threatening the lives of the people if they were still inside.
The Fire Control Room acted promptly, and firefighters were dispatched to the johnstone village. The first wave of firefighters got to the scene quickly, they were unable to put out the fire on their own, as the situation was getting out of control.
Luckily, the fire department from the Airport was dispatched to the scene in order to give an extra hand to help the on-scene rescue team. Meanwhile, the Department of Electricity also acted swiftly to prevent further damage. They shut down electricity pole with a cable line passing through the house.
The fire fighters worked tirelessly at the scene of the incident at Johnstone Village in order to extinguish the blazing fire, and after some time, the blazes, along with the flames, were seen disappearing little by little.
Later on, the house owner was seen outside of her residence witnessing the perishing of her house and property, as it was reported that she was at church with her family when the fire broke. The house owner, Dr Natasha, was consoled by her neighbours

Later on, it was reported that there were some holes in the road in Johnstone Village which might have been an obstacle for the first firefighters to act quickly without the help of the Airport firefighter truck.
No injuries were reported on this scene, and the residence occupants were left traumatised. The cause of the fire is still unknown.
