Eric Evelyn, St Kitts and Nevis Parliamentary representative of Constituency #10 and prominent politician of the Concerned Citizens Movement, has shared a list of accomplishments of himself and his political party in the preceding tenure of the Nevis Island Assembly.
The Nevis assembly representative for the St George Constituency, Eric Evelyn, shared the list of the government’s accomplishments in their preceding term at the office.
The list featured several plans and accomplishments initiated by the CCM Government towards the creation of a stronger economy.
Eric Evelyn Outlined that the Partnership with MSR Media, which was brought into Nevis by the efforts of Premier Mark Brantley, has now produced eight feature films on Nevis.
Talking about the positive impacts of the creation of a movie industry in Nevis, the CCM Candidate detailed:
o Movie industry employs some 90 persons locally in well-paying jobs
o Nevisians are gaining valuable experience in all aspects of filmmaking.
The former Nevis Island Administration, led by the Concerned Citizens Movement and Mark Brantley, provided $5 million in seed funding for women and youth-owned businesses. This gesture of the Nevis Island Administration resulted in several positive impacts, such as:
o Low-interest loans
o Financing of up to $100,000
o Disbursed some $1,987,690.36 to 54 micro and small
businesses on Nevis
The CCM-led Nevis Island Administration waived the 10% alien landholding license, resulting in the following positive outcomes
o Over EC$100 million in property sales.
o Increased construction activity as new owners are now retrofitting and modernizing their homes.
The former government of Removed VAT and Customs Duties on all construction materials valued at over EC$30,000.
Further, Eric Evelyn informed through his Facebook post that there are 168 active construction sites currently on Nevis.
Monday, December 5, 2022 was observed as the nomination day in Nevis. Exactly a week later, On Monday, December 12, Nevis will hold their assembly elections.
