The much-awaited and anticipated day of the elections has dawned in St Kitts and Nevis. Political parties across the country have taken to their respective social media accounts to urge and encourage the eligible population of St Kitts and Nevis to go and cast their votes at the various polling stations. The voting polls open at 7:00 AM and will remain functional throughout the day for approximately eleven hours; the voting is all set to conclude at 6:00 PM.

The contending political parties of the country have begun sharing captioned posts on their social media profiles to encourage the citizens to cast their votes for their preferred political parties or even take their family and friends along with them.

Premier Mark Brantley of the Concerned Citizens Movement shared a picture on his Facebook account, hoping the election process would be fair and free from any fear.

People’s Labour Party took to their Facebook account to share a captioned post,

“The polls open at 7 AM! Vote early, then go get your family and friends to VOTE PLP! Remind them that a vote for the saw is a VOTE to secure their future.”

The People’s Action Movement shared glimpses from last night’s “touchdown rally” on their Facebook account, captioned,

“The day is upon us. Vote for peace, Vote for Prosperity, Vote for PAM.”

St Kitts and Nevis Labour Party also shared glimpses from their “final rally” on Thursday, August 4, 2022. Later, they posted an image with the words “VOTE FOR THE BETTER WAY. VOTE FOR THE LABOUR WAY”

Over the weeks leading up to the much anticipated “Freedom Day”, the various political parties have constantly posted updates on their Facebook and Twitter accounts regarding the events, election campaigns, door-to-door campaigns, and electoral rallies.

The prominent political leaders grabbed at any chance that they had to interact with the citizens and residents of the country to ensure their support for their political parties.
