The building that houses the East Basseterre Constituency Office of the St Kitts-Nevis Labour Party (SKNLP) candidate, Dr Geoffrey Hanley, has been vandalised for the third time in as many months.

“Harris Again! Harris!,” was scribbed on sides of the building by the perpetrator or perpetrators overnight.

It was announced at a highly successful Youth Rally in Central Basseterre on Friday night that the St Christopher 1 candidate, Dr Hanley, along with St Christopher 8 candidate, Dr Terrance Drew, were overseas.

On December 1, 2019, the building on Stanfort Street was defaced, while buntings and flags that installed for decoration of the building and the fence were removed and destroyed.

On December 3, 2019, perpetrators sprayed graffiti with the name of the current Parliamentary Representative and Minister of Public Infrastructure, Hon Ian Patches Liburd on the sides of the Dr Geoffrey Hanley’s East Basseterre Constituency office’s building.

The vandalisation of the Labour Party East Basseterre Constituency Office on December 1, 2019, was orchestrated less than a week after video footage captured two young men with their heads covered by clothing, removing strips with the word “Geoffrey.” The video footage which made the rounds on social media was handed over to the police.

Since 2015, there has been several arson attacks on properties occupied by four SKNLP candidates.

On the morning of the February 16, 2015 geneeral election the Campaign Headquarters of Central Basseterre MP and SKNLP candidate, Hon. Marcella Liburd was broken into, damaged and burnt.

On November 27, 2017, the Constituency office of West Basseterre MP, Hon Konris Maynard was broken into, severely ravaged and more than 60% of the building was burnt.

On October 28, 2019, the Constituency Office of His Excellency, Steve Wrensford, the SKNLP Candidate for No. 4, was extensively gutted by an early morning blaze.

The St Kitts-Nevis Labour Party has said it will not be intimidated by these vandalism acts and instead of seeking revenge, they will continues to hope for fair and peaceful elections.
