The Premier of Nevis and Leader of the Concerned Citizens Movement, Mark Brantley, recently received the Ambassador of St Kitts and Nevis to the Republic of China (Taiwan), Donya Francis, at Nevis. Ambassador Francis was on the island to donate multipurpose pens and hand sanitisers to the ministry of health on the island of Nevis.

Premier Mark Brantley noted that he was honoured to receive Ambassador Donya Francis. He also took to his social media account to share the update. Per the update shared by Mark Brantley, St Kitts and Nevis Ambassador to the Republic of China (Taiwan) met with the NIA’s minister of health, Jahnel Nisbett, to make the donations.

During the handover ceremony of the donated products (Multipurpose pens and hand sanitisers), Ambassador Donya Francis noted that he wanted to ascertain better relations between the two nations (Taiwan and St Kitts and Nevis)

The Republic of China (Taiwan) is the oldest ally of St Kitts and Nevis. The Republic of China (Taiwan) established diplomatic relations with the people of St Kitts and Nevis on September 10. 1983. The global cooperation between the two nations is deep and strong. ROC (Taiwan) is one of the most vocal supporters of St Kitts and Nevis on the international stage.

Ambassador Donya Francis also visited the Joseph N France General Hospital to make a matching donation to Dr Jenson Morton, Director of Health Institutions. The medical practitioners, nurses and other trained staff at the hospitals can use the multipurpose pens donated by the Embassy of St Kitts and Nevis in Taiwan for hygienic purposes. The medical support staff and doctors can fill these pens with hand sanitiser or alcohol-based solutions.

In the present circumstances, with the risk of Covid infections not fully gone, the donation can be very useful in dealing with the mission to curb the flu and other infections.
