Nevis: Nevis Culturama Festival 2024 has attracted hundreds of tourists and locals for the celebration as the Nedacs Cultural Complex was fully sold out.
People from beyond the nation of St Kitts and Nevis arrived for the 50th edition of the much-awaited Nevis Culturama Festival and excitedly participated in a series of events to experience the culture of the island.
The environment of the festival was surrounded by culturama beats as the patrons enjoyed the music with the performers and spent the night grooving to the it. The crowd gathered at the Cultural Complex was amazing and the event proved to be a huge success.
The Nevis Tourism Authority is celebrating the 50th anniversary of the Culturama Festival this year under the campaign of ‘Homecoming.’ The invite has been sent to Nevisians globally to return to their homes for the biggest celebration of the island nation.
The festival has its roots traced back to 1974, which has now become the most successful event of the Caribbean region as it is has gained popularity among the people worldwide.
The Culturama aims to stimulate the cultural heritage of Nevis and showcase the cultural folk art to the world. Besides this, the Culturama also aims to enhance the influx of tourists for the advancement in the economic sector.
Premier Mark Brantley shared glimpses from the event and stated that the sold-out event marked the presence of Nevis among the tourists.
With the festival, the local small business holders such as tour guides, taxi operators, hoteliers, shopkeepers, street vendors, cuisine vendors and other business people are given opportunity to sell their products and expose themselves to the international market.
Due to this, such festivals have great importance for the Caribbean countries as the Culturama provides economic benefits and means of livelihoods to the locals.
Now, Nevis has several activities advancing for Culturama as it will be concluded on August 6, 2024, with the street parades.
