Basseterre, St Kitts and Nevis: The Carnival Venezia, a Vista-class Cruise Ship operated by Carnival Cruise Line gave its inaugural visit to the shores of St Kitts on Friday, March 8th, 2024. The Cruise welcomed over 4000 visitors, who experienced the captivating beauty of the island and its warm beaches.
Upon the arrival, the Ministry of Tourism led a delegation and held a brief plaque exchange ceremony on the vessel. The Ceremony was held in the warm presence of Minister of Tourism, Marsha Henderson along with several other dignitaries.
Minster Henderson expressed her gratitude on receiving the maiden call from the cruise and remarked that even though the island is not completely developed, it still beholds a naturalistic authenticity in itself which allows the visitors to experience onboard.
She said the destination offers the visitors to venture deeper beyond the piers, beyond the ports, and into the rich culture of the locals, as well as the rainforests.
Meanwhile, the Tourism Authority of St Kitts also welcomed the cruise with open arms and said that the arrival of this vessel symbolizes the continued expansion of the destination’s cruise industry and strengthens the bond between St Kitts and Carnival Cruise Line.
This is to be noted that the Carnival Venezia docked to the ports of the island along with four other cruises. These include Celebrity Beyond, Norwegian Sky, Valiant Lady, and Emerald Sakara. The arrival of the cruises marked a remarkable milestone for the island and its tourism sector.
While sharing glimpses of the Cruise, the Tourism Authority also expressed their gratitude and said that the witness of these majestic cruises will bring a wave of opportunities to them.
“Our destination witnessed a remarkable surge in cruise activity, propelling our tourism industry forward with irresistible charm and limitless progress,” it added.
Meanwhile, several visitors on board expressed their happiness in witnessing the cruises. They expressed their gratitude for visiting the island and commended its naturalistic beauty. A user identified as Sherms Cooke mentioned, “Enjoy St Kitts, my maternal grandmother’s homeland.
I love St Kitts and have extended family there.”
Another user hailed the island for their continuous progress, a user, Kate Hamilton noted, “Congratulations to Skitts And Nevis these Islands are back where they belong to the top,”.
