Four French residents, including a 16-year-old, have been accounted for missing after a small plane crashed with the ocean close to the island of Dominica on Sunday.
The plane smashed in the ocean around 7 pm CET, “not long after taking off at the Charles Douglas air terminal in Dominica”, the prefecture for Guadeloupe, to which the four were voyaging, said in an official statement.
A 40-year-elderly person, a 55-year-old couple and their 15-year-old child were on board the airplane, the prefecture included. All are French residents, it said.
An inquiry group recuperated a knapsack with the identification (passport) of one of the individuals on the plane.
Later in the first part of the day, another pack with the flight plan was discovered, the prefecture said.
“The inquiry conditions are made troublesome with solid breezes and difficult situations causing poor perceivability because of successive squalls,” said the Guadeloupe prefecture.
